To a new beginning.

Whoa it's 2011 already?? how and the heck did that happen? it feels like this year just flew by. It has been quite the year I had some amazing experiences and some not so amazing but that's life and you learn from those. I've met some great friends this year that truly inspire me and make me laugh. I reconnected with some good old friends, that I am so happy to get to start that friendship again.

I got to FINALLY and I never thought I would ever be saying this. See Joan jett live. She still kicks butt on stage it was so surreal to see someone I have been listening to for so long.

Autumn's first Christmas

Autumn's first birthday.

First vacation to Hawaii.
My mom has her family there so we have now made it a tradition to go every year. We were supposed to go every December but with my sisters work that wasn't possible. So now were looking into March.

A spontaneous road trip to California.

It was defiantly the road trip. Hit a guard rail while visiting the golden gate bridge. Which resulted in needed a whole set of new brakes and a new steering thingy bobber it was REALLY scary having to go into a sketchy car garage in the ghetto of LA.But then safely making it to long beach to stay with her family to make it out to see The walking sleep. Which is still one of my favorite things about that trip. Driving into hollywood in a borrowed volvo with our hands out of the sunroof saying " WAHOOO"
So now every time I pop in the walking sleep I have happy sunny thoughts of the walking sleep.

Got a tattoo at High voltage.

We ended that trip with seeing Aqualung not once but TWICE.

I ended the year with finally finding a house. A little house all to myself that I can decorate as I please and have my own studio to really get my Etsy going. I finally feel the drive and know where I want my life to go. I have set the goal to own my own shop by the time I am 28. Yes that is four years but I have amazing support and I believe in myself. I think 2011 is going to be a magical year I have a really good feeling about it.

I want to do one of those cliche New years resolutions list I never keep mine, even though I say I will every year. I will this year... I hope.

-I want to pick up running again everyday.
-Really dive back into and keep up yoga and hot yoga ( my new place will be very close to the hot yoga studio anyway)
-Go full force into my Etsy shop
-Read more, try for a book a month. I used to read one or two a month.
-Be more organized (having my own place will help with that a lot.
-Have better time management skills
-Go on as many road trips as I can
-start using my film camera more

I know I have more and will continue to add to it. What are you resolutions?

Happy new year.

Feeling inspired

My head is spinning with decorating ideas for my new place. I've been drinking coffee out of my new oh so cute I love cupcakes mug I got for Christmas. While sketching and making a list of cleaning and things I do not have for my house yet. Like
-broom & dust pan
-pots & pans

stuff like that. Im pretty good with stuff to fill the whole house. I have A LOT of stuff. Although I need to get rid of a lot. New years cleaning I like to call it.

Anywhoo I've gotten off track I wanted to share some pictures that are inspiring me for decorating.

Oh how I wish I had black and white checkered floors somewhere in my house. I have this mud room this idea would work PERFECT in. It is right by the back yard down and basement so its just screaming for something like this. I could easily make that rather then spend a pretty penny on a brand new one. And it would be a fun project me thinks. I have this bench that would sit under this. That I think a bunch of cosy, and huge pillows would go great there. Theres also this beautiful stained glass window in the wall that looks into the kitchen. I have a total of three stained glass windows in my house. It wasn't on my list of things I wanted but it defiantly made the cute bonuses I'd love to have in my house list.

The kitchen I have had ideas on just yet. It's quite outdated it looks right out of the 80's the house was built in the 1920's when it was remodeled it looks as if the kitchen was the only thing to be touched. It should of been left alone. So here are kitchens that I would love to have or take some bits and pieces of to put towards mine.

I just love open shelving. So I can display all my cute pyrex and other pretty dishes.

I have been in love with huge you just sink into them white comfy couches for sometime. I have this VERY purple couch I got from my mom years ago for the day I would have my own place. I didn't end up using it at my last place since they are already had a couch. So nows the chance to clean it off and find one of these pretty white slip covers. And set her up.

I just love love love these chairs. When my mom and step dad bought this house the guy who sold it to us did not want to keep them anymore and was at first going to offer them to us for $100 for BOTH. ( side note I did some research and they go for a good pretty penny) But in the end he gave them to me for free.

One day I would love to re upholster them but I have yet to find a fabric that I like just yet. I did way back one find this Martha stewart chair that I loved the pattern but failed trying to find anything similar to it. So for now I love them the way they are.

I love four poster beds, sadly my room is not big enough for one. Even if it was would my next place be big enough. Maybe when I buy a place one day.

Oh how I love old looking farm tables where the paint is chipping. But not enough it will make a mess :). I have yet to spot one anywhere. It's my dream dining table. I thought this antique mall I frequent maybe would have one. I am going today so maybe it will be my lucky day to find her. The only big furniture pieces I need for my new place are a dinning table and a craft table would I would also like to be a big wooden table and lots of storage baskets for all the nicknack's.
It already has this pretty wallpaper up. And these french doors that open up into the living room. Actually I haven't decided which room will be the studio just yet. Its a pending decision.

Im so stoked to finally have my very own claw foot tub. I've wanted one to call my own And not my moms that I have to ask to use or wait till she's not home or out of town to use. I loved this country themed bathroom I saw on this show called Sarah's house on HGTV. Which that channel is SO addicting I used to not be able to watch it. It just made me more decoratingly frustrated ( I know that isn't a word, it should be though.) But now I can watch it with joy on getting ideas and actually being able to apply them.

Some cute things I'd like to have in my bathroom

Wow this was quite the long post. I seemed to have got carried away. I cant wait to dive right into decorating and finally having a place to call mine and decorate how I want. This journey has felt like it would never end. I've already got a house warming party planned I have ideas for that in my head a brewing as well. A date is still in the works, just because I want one of my good friends from Seattle to come and her schedule is quite hectic. But I cant wait to have all my friends over and show them the space.

I hope you have a lovely Thursday it's almost the weekend this week has felt slow and fast at the same time. Which is nice so it doesn't feel like time has blown right by me.

I feel like I have been on a never ending episode of that show house hunters. I had to do the whole move back in with my mom and step dad thing for a few months. I went on the search back in September and looked at house after house. I thought at one point I had one but it fell though. I would get frustrated of course so I would take a brake for a while. My goal was to have one by Fall so I could have trick or treaters and Christmas eve finally be hosted at my place. But that wasn't in the cards I guess you could say. The other day I decided to give it another go and came across this cute little bungalow that is on one of those tree lined streets you see in the movies. It was love at first site, although it's got somethings I dislike about it. But I can make do. The things I love out weigh the things I dislike. I almost passed on it,my mom convinced me that I should take it. So I went for it and what do you know I GOT IT! My mom is right 99.5% of the time.So I tend to listen to her advice when I am not sure on a situation. If I wouldn't have I wouldn't have my own place right now. And of course I did a little dance when I found out. I am already planning a little house warming party although it will be in a few weeks being the perfectionist that I am. It has to be perfect before I will have it. I plan on doing a before/after post also I love those. I will finally have a studio for my crafts and really get my etsy going. I think this will be a magical year I sign the lease and get my key on the first of January what a great way to start the new year off.

I don't feel like I am even moving yet it all happened so fast I will weirdly enough miss living with my mom she's one of my best friends I tell her everything it was nice seeing her before I went to bed. And the saddest of all my puppy. well my mom's puppy but we've done the whole bonding thing. She sleeps with me every night....Well actually more like she likes to sleep on my head every night, and smack me with her cute little puppy feet in the middle of the night. But I can't take her away from my mom, well I don't think my mom would let me take her away anyway. Thankfully 95% of my stuff is in a storage unit I had to get when I moved out of my last place. So it should be a pretty easy move. I cant wait to get in and start putting all my things away and donate stuff as well. I like to go through stuff every few months to get rid of things. And this I think is the perfect time to do just that.

I Have so many cute ideas for this room.

why yes that would be my very own claw foot tub. you have no idea how long I've been waiting for one of these all to myself. I plan on braking it in with some Lush goodies and a good red wine.

Now these are the craigslist pictures. No bedroom pictures but they are just adorable. Those will come sometime this weekend.

Oh happy Wednesday.

Merry Christmas

Boy did Santa treat me good this year. My Christmas in pictures.

The morning after.

But my most favorite gift of all...

I had a hunch I was getting this but my mom likes to try to make me think I wasn't getting it. It's funny we both got each other mixers my sisters quote on that was "Omg you guys got each other mixers your so old"

I am off to bake cupcake sugar cookies and watch freeks and geeks marathon that's on tv.

But I am excited to end this christmas night with gathering around the tv to watch the red green show with my brother and sister. We all grew up on this show. Watching it with my dad I knew he would of loved this gift. Or actually he would of bought this for us. Like Red green says " If it aint broke you aint doing it right"

Merry Christmas
