Today.

I am in full on prepping mode over here tomorrow is THE day of the Camas vintage street faire it flew by I got my plot placement email the other day it was so weird to see my shop name on the map. I've always wanted to do something like this as a step in something I want to be doing selling vintage, and refurbished items as well as building my own stuff. So this is all surreal I can't wrap my head around it yet. Probably wont hit me until its all over tomorrow. I will try to snap some photos through out the day. It will be quite the early morning since my helper to get the big items to the faire has work at 6 I have to be there at 5:30 so that gives me a good 3 1/2 hours until the faire opens to get my booth ready. AH I am so nervous and anxious I am glad my mom is coming along to help with the money part otherwise I think I would be all sorts of a mess running it alone. Well back to prepping.

Weekend mornings.

camasvintagefaire
Are for lazy mornings sipping coffee and flipping through pretty books. This weekend was spent working on projects for the faire, a little mini hike with the family where we stumbled on to some treasures in the forest. Including a 1920's washing machines, pretty china plates and all sorts of cool bottles. We also hit up the farmers market for lunch and some fresh fruits and veggies.

A before and after.

Lately these days I've been getting ready for the Camas vintage street faire. I have two projects all finished and ready to go. I still have a few I am working on at the moment I will share those once they are done as well. Here is the before of a nightstand and mirror that Daisy thought she would help model. She just loves to stare at herself and has since she was a baby, she also likes to bark at herself its pretty darn cute.

I loved how they turned out the nightstand wasn't exactly the shade of grey I was going for it looks more of a light blue to me. But the shade is called "pebble grey" anyway I like it and it turned out great, hopefully they will find a good home at the faire in a few weeks.

This weekend and days and weeks to follow..

forsale
Will be crunch time getting ready for the fifth annual Camas vintage street faire. It is hosted in downtown Camas, Washington its beautiful and all historic buildings just a beautiful setting for such an event. And I am so so excited to be apart of something like this. I still can't believe I will be doing this it's been a dream of mine to have my very own booth and one day thought why not right? worst they can say is no but I asked and I will have my very own booth come Saturday August 31st. I've been working on a few furniture pieces sanding and stripping the paint off and getting ready to paint. As well as going through my storage unit this weekend to dig out the stuff that will also be going into the faire.

Tonight while I was sanding some furniture pieces for a few hours I got to thinking "Why do I love doing this stuff so much?" And I thought to myself and it brought me back to my dad and how he loved doing tile. He owned his own business and did all the tile work in this gigantic houses. He would bring me and my sister along to help measure the wonder board, lay and grout the tile it was a very hard labor job and taught us how to really work for things in life. I am getting off point here but he also taught us how to be perfectionist not on purpose anyway but me and my sister are very much perfectionist I think because of him. But he loved to get down and dirty to work on things he loved most besides tile he also loved working on his trucks and anything he could get his hands on. It was a nice little moment to myself of finally figuring why I love doing this work so much its in my bones and I have my dad to thank for that. It's also a huge stress reliever and relaxing to me and something beautiful always comes out in the end. I can't wait to share the before and afters of my projects. I have to find my camera cord first I have seemed to misplaced it somewhere. I also cannot wait to share my experience of the faire here with you guys I just cannot wait, I know August will just fly by so fast just as this past year has like can you believe we only have five months left of this year?!? 0.0 I can't I don't know where the time goes. Anywhoo I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Adventures.

I love a good hiking adventure day. Two weekends ago me and my friend wanted to go hiking but we weren't in the mood to drive hours to get to a good hike. So I did some searching around and found one at Sauvies island which is about a 45 minute drive which was just perfect. The directions to find this "trail" was very confusing and we got lost on the way and had to ask where this "trail" head was located and if we passed it. We started out walking along the beach trying to find the trail that was supposed to be on the beach but we couldn't find it so walked through a bunch of berry bushes which lead to a trail. We only walked not even a mile until we turned around after been eating to death by mosquitos so we turned around disappointed about not hiking but we were still going to enjoy the walk along beautiful beach. On our way back we decided to stop at a farm we saw that had pick your own peaches on the way they were about to close so we crossed our fingers we still would be able to pick some. adventure adventure adventure adventure adventure

On our way out we saw this pretty house so naturally we got out to explore. It was so so cute and we even got to peak inside the windows it was a bummer that is wasn't furnished and I really wanted to go inside to a take a tour. But seeing into the windows and snapping a few photos would have to do, and next time I am brining my camera I bought film and everything and left it at home such a bummer.

I can't wait for another hiking adventure I love a day spent hiking in nature its my happy place.
