Polaroid love.

I just love the look of polaroids and how you can have that instant memory on film in a instant. I recently found a purse hidden in my moms garage and I was cleaning it out and found some polaroids I had thought I lose forever. I was so happy. Especially of my ones I took while on vacation in Hawaii oh boy am I missing Hawaii and it's warm sand beaches and drinking out of fresh coconuts.

First time driving my jeep on the beach. I was pretty terrified and it wasn't even my idea but there was no where to park besides the beach. I am terrified of the ocean so parking my car on the beach was pretty scary.

I plan on taking more polaroids and film pictures this year theres just something about film that makes those pictures so special. I love looking through all my moms old photos and i'd like to look back on these memories one day.

Happy first birthday Daisy!

One year ago this a little girl named Daisy was born. Little did I know when she was born a month later I would be adopting her and becoming her puppy momma. Happy birthday miss Daisy! I love you so much you little crazy ball of energy who's nickname is chewbacca because of the noises she makes when she greets you with a toy or sock in her mouth.

I see a lot of her parents in her but more so her mom seeing pictures of her mom she was a spitting image of her. I sure love this little ball of fluff so so much. I am also one of those crazy pup moms who bakes her dogs doggy treats she's like my child and she deserves a little something special on her birthday. So today I did just that and made some oatmeal and cranberry ones she loved them, I also go her one of her favorite bones for a present. What do you do for your special furry friends on their birthdays?

A post about food.

Another week another post with some amazingly delicious healthy food.

food food
First up I had spaghetti squash and oh my word UH MAZING! I was a little nervous at first because to be honest it didn't look that tasty. But after that first bite I was hooked it's so good the squash has this natural buttery taste to it. I will definitely be making this a lot more often, and it is so much better for you then all those pasta noodles I will not miss those now that I have this. I want to try making a Alfredo with them next maybe add some salmon that would be really good.

I found these over on Mandi of making nice in the midwest these were UH MAZING I made a batch to take a few hiking with a friend and by the end of the next day they were all gone. They were just that good!

Salmon with a vanilla balsamic marinade

Salmon and I have a love hate relationship I love it but I can't eat it to much I think it all goes back to when I was little my dad would go fishing ALL THE TIME! No I am serious probably every weekend I have pictures to prove it to we would all have to stand with my dad and pose with his precious fish.

So we had it all the time and he even smoked it that was amazing Id like to have that again. We also ate spagetti a lot because my dad raced motorcycles so him and his racing buddies would come over a lot and that was the easiest fastest thing my mom could cook up for that many hungry dudes. But anyway this salmon marinade is the bomb, yes I just said that I guess it's the 90's kid in me. But you should try it and tell me what you think.

food
Vanilla Balsamic Marinade
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1 shallot, diced
1 1/2 teaspoons dried organic parsley
1 1/2 teaspoons dried organic basil
1/2 teaspoon dark brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Bean Paste
Salmon
8 (4 to 6 ounce) 1-inch thick Salmon fillets
Canola oil
Salt and freshly ground pepper
For the marinade, combine the olive oil, shallot, parsley, basil, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard and vanilla paste into a blender container and puree. Pour evenly into two containers and set one container aside. For the salmon, preheat the grill. Brush each fillet with canola oil and season with salt and pepper. Brush the tops of the fillets with the marinade, discarding any remaining marinade. Place the fillets marinated side down on a grill rack over direct heat. Grill for 6 to 8 minutes or until dark grill marks appear and the marinade begins to caramelize. Turn the fillets and grill for 3 to 4 minutes longer. Serve with the reserved marinade.
Serves 8

Well that was I enjoyed sharing these delicious recipes with you I could go for some of those granola bars right now. Maybe I'll have to whip up another batch. And maybe hide some so they don't all get eaten up so fast this time.

On the road to eating healthier.

This weeks recipes of eating better are so delicious I can't even tell you and way healthy for you. So lets start off we have a Linguine pasta with shredded zucchini and a lemon greek yogurt sauce. I was unsure of the sauce because I am not a fan of the plain greek yogurt but since it's flavored with parmesan and lemon you can't even tell. After I took that first bite I said "OMG OMG" out loud to myself I was pretty proud of myself for making such a delicious healthy meal.

This gorgeous antiue stool I don't know to much about it year and what not but it's gorgeous and it was only wait for it.... $4!! So I had to have it.
That was thrift store number one then I headed over to another one of my favorites and found this beauty.

Shabby chic lilac duvet and two shams: $20 Original price: 99.99 That is BANANAS. I saw this lady going for another shabby chic duvet near the one I had eyed and I just darted over there and grabbed it. Like that is one AMAZING deal, when this line first came out I wanted it so bad months and months ago but I had to retain myself plus I wasn't spending $100 on bedding. Because 50% of my shabby chic bedding has been from goodwill so I knew one day that I would find it I have come close and found the twin size but today was my day. #thankyouthriftinggods And on top of this great thrifting adventure Portland had some amazing sunny weather only 59 but it was 31 when I left for work and it took me 15 mins to defrost my ice covered car so I was so happy I had my sun roof open people were mowing their grass today was a pretty great day if I do say so myself. I hope you all had one fantastic day as well.
