Thrifty Thursday.

Hello ladies I hope your all having a great day. I am doing pretty great myself it's a rainy day here in Portland.
thriftythursday

I miss that sunny weather we had the other day hopefully it will be back soon. Lets talk about thrifting, yesterday had a wonderful coffee date with Miss Kara She's also the nicest person you'll ever meet, we had a little design meeting on doing a make over on this little blog. I think it went swimingly and I am pretty excited y'all. After that I craving me some veggie grill. They opened up here in Portland a few weeks ago and I've already gone twice their food is SO good I don't think there is anything on the menu I wouldn't like. And they are putting another one downtown soon which will be really nice since that will be a lot closet to my place. Of course I took pictures of what I ate :) The first time I went I had the hail kale salad which they marinate over night in this ginger sauce SO SO good. And since it was the first time ever going in the owner offered us some carrot cake on the house. Normally I am not a fan of carrot cake but this was uh mazing so moist and delicious. And I can't feel bad about any of the stuff I eat since it is all vegan plant based foods so its a lot better for me. The second time I went in yesterday I had the chipotle bbq "steak" with sweet potato fries. Which until yesterday I had never had a sweet potato they just looked so odd to me ( I know sounds silly and a bit like a five year old that your trying to get to eat their vegetables.) But I thought why not and they were heaven I don't know what I was waiting for I am defiantly going to have to try an actual baked sweet potato now. And they are better for you then a regular old potato.

After stuffing our self of some good yummy food we headed over to a huge good will. I was trying to continue my shabby chic streak. Also I was on the look for the missoni flats, which I did find BUT they were either 5 1/2 or 11 I think the smallest I could shove my feet into would be a 6 1/2 I wont give up though. So here are some funny things I found while thrifting and my finds.

These are pretty amazing just based on the title and the cover of barry's album. I think I would want it just to frame haha :).

I am in love with this cute little plate which is called tickled pink it reminds me of starburst and temporama.

Last but not least this pretty white shabby chic duvet cover. My friend spotted this first they also had a window panel but they only had one and all my windows would need at least two so I decided to pass on that one. I am defiantly growing quite the linen collection. I think I am going to have to clean out and re organize my linen cabinet again to fit everything in there. My house doesn't really have any closet storage space besides the entry closet then my bedroom closet and those are already full with clothes so. Well I must leave and pack up my laptop and hit the road for our family beach trip. Its going to be pretty cloudy and rainy but that's ok the beach is still gorgeous and relaxing even if its raining. I plan on lots of walks on the beach just gotta bring my umbrella and I'll be good to go. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

What I wore: Jason wu for target edition.

Well hello there, right now I am relaxing watching eclipse and breaking dawn part one after that. After putting out a mini kitchen fire after attempting to bake a pizza. I think my darned oven hates me and I should also probably clean it. But also I think it's dying, only two maybe three out of the four burners work half the time. Anywhoo so I haven't done a outfit post in a while I thought it would be fun to do one again after I purchased some of the lovely items from Jason wu's target collection. These were taken sometime last week and I never got around to posting these.

Thrifty thursday.

It's my favorite time of the week again Thrifty thursday. I've had some great luck lately I think I have defiantly gotten out of my thrift rut. I have been trying to go more frequently since they are constantly putting new stuff out all day everyday. Alright lets get to the goodies from this week.

thriftythursday

thriftythursday
I've been finding a lot of shabby chic stuff last week and this week. I am so glad I didn't gave at buy them at target when if I just be patient and wait I can find them at good will.
( although sadly I did not purchase this white duvet after opening it up to look it over, which is always a must when buying at a thrift store. I noticed it was seriously stained this awful yellow all over)

I've also had quite the luck finding vintage sheets. I always had such a hard time finding any.

thriftythursday
Finally a pair of missoni shoes that actually fit.

thriftythursday
I was really bummed by this "Dooney and bourke" purse that was a fake but it also wasn't taken care of that well.

Then there are these beauties. I was on my way out and thought I would scan the shoes one last time and the blue tassels caught my eye. They were a half size bigger then my usual size, but luckily they fit perfectly.

I am bummed there was no pyrex found this week. I did find one but was all scratched and not taken care of at all :( and they wanted 7.99 for it. If it was in perfect looked new condition maybe but I think they are seeing more people take interest in pyrex so they are upping their prices. Oh how I miss the days of super cheap and shelves full off old beautiful pyrex over flowing at the thrifts, those were great days.

Have you had any great luck at the thrifts lately? and what did you find?

have a great day :)

I can't believe it's February already.

This fake Portland spring we have going makes me want to wear pastel colored dresses everyday.

This little munchkin makes my days so much happier.
And little snap shots out and about around my house.

Making a new little pastel colored yarn wreath for my bedroom door. Out with fall and in with pastels :)

Everyone needs a little 80's music in their lives.

My house needed a bit of tiding up. Ok a lot, and I may have just taken down my pink christmas tree last weekend. I was torn because it is pink and valentines day is coming up. But in the end I think it was time to pack her on up and save her for next christmas.
- also those are nutella sandwich cookies to celebrate national nutella day yesterday.

Hello pretty purple roses.

Sunday morning was all about getting up early to head on over to Target for Jason Wu's collection to launch then hit the gym.
And boy was it crazy I went to a Target I thought might have the lease of a line, I was wrong very wrong. It was a mad dash as soon as those doors open one security guard was laughing and saying "Do girls really need clothes this bad" Normally I don't get like this for Target's collaboration lines but Jason's was just to adorable and feminine perfect for spring I couldn't not be excited. I wasn't excited for the missoni line at all, everything looked poorly made and I wasn't impressed. Although I liked the flats that was about it.

So I walked away with these pretties. I did not get the white dress and purse I wanted there was a lady who saw I was grabbing it and literally snagged it out from me. (crazy crazy ladies) Not pictured was the yellow pleated shift shirt dress and blue blouse. I ordered them online early sunday morning thinking they would go fast in the stores. (oddly they didn't) But they are safe in my house now and that's all the matters :).

instagrams
I was to excited I decided to wear my trench coat and new blouse out today. I even had a lady at the thrift store ask me if she could buy it from me because the targets she went to were sold out in her size. I kindly said thanks for the offer but no thanks. And to keep checking good will because I see target stuff coming in there all the time. I found some amazing thrift finds again. But more on that on Thrifty thursday :) I hope you are all having a wonderful day.

Flash back friday: California

I was going through old pictures on this sunny Portland morning. And it had me missing California pretty hard. I miss the sun, palm trees, and the food. There were two places that I ate at in California that had UH MAZING food. In Los angeles The veggie grill

& in San Francisco

Herbivore
We stayed in San Francisco for I believe two days. And you better believe we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner there. It's all vegetarian and vegan food and it was amazing. Also in walking distance to our hotel so that was a extra plus.

We discovered this place while staying at The metro hotel

which our room was the tiniest little room I had ever seen. It just fit our queen bed and that was it. Our view a lovely brick wall. But that was the only hotel we would be paying for since the other places we stayed were friends/family of my friend Lori. And we stayed out pretty late exploring the local bar. So we didn't mind it to much.

I was pretty excited to be able to go to this little coffee/pancake house. Being a big fan of the show the OC I had to make it a trip to go to the place seen in basically every episode. And their chocolate chip pancakes were pretty standard but delicious non the less. And I can say I ate at the pancake house from the oc so I am happy.

And of course we had to make a stop into sprinkles cupcakes

It was so weird to see Beverly hills after seeing it on multiple tv shows. They make it seem so big and really it's not its all these stores squished together. I remember when my friend and I went into Starbucks there was this girl and her mom. And the mom says to the girl something about why didn't you bring a sweater its cold. Mind you it was in the high 70's. I laughed to myself, oh you ladies would not handle Portland very well. I also saw a few ladies with their faces wrapped up from ahem "doctor visits". It was a whole other universe to me, But it was so much fun.

flashbackfriday
And of course I had to make trips both times in LA to get some ink. Over at High voltage The first time I went in I got a cupcake tattoo by Mojo, I don't believe he works there anymore but he was great and did an amazing job.

The second time I went in I got tattooed by Koi and he did my skeleton key on my inner arm by my arm pit (Painful place by the way)
flashbackfriday
I guess I don't have pictures of that one getting done or after really.

Both times we went to California we got to see one of our favorite bands walking sleep play. Exactly a year after each other it was pretty cool.
